Junior Netball

At TVP, junior netball is all about confidence, connection, and creating a love for the game that lasts. We focus on fun, skill development, and giving every child a positive team experience — whether they’re brand new to netball or already obsessed.

We’re a supportive, family‑friendly club backed by a committee that genuinely cares about our players and whānau. Our goal is simple: help kids grow their skills, make friends, and enjoy their netball journey.

Cambridge Netball runs May - August at the Cambridge Netball Centre in Leamington.

Can I help coach, manage or umpire?

We’d love that. Netball doesn’t run without volunteers, and support is available if you’re new to it. Flick us an email!

FAQs

What age groups can join?

We welcome players from Year 1–8. Children are placed in the appropriate Cambridge Netball grade based on school year.

My child has never played before — is that okay?

Absolutely. Junior netball is designed for learning. We support beginners with age‑appropriate coaching and lots of encouragement.

Can my child be in a team with friends?

We do our best to accommodate friend requests. Just note it on the registration form.

How are teams formed?

Teams are grouped by school year, experience, and—where possible—friendships. We also consider which schools players attend to help keep teammates connected. We work closely with families to ensure every child is placed in a team where they’ll feel supported, confident, and able to thrive.

When do teams train?

Training times vary by age group and coach availability.

What are the fees?

Fees cover competition entry, equipment, and club costs. Final pricing is confirmed once team numbers are set.

Do parents need to help?

Junior netball thrives on community support. We welcome parent helpers, coaches, managers, and sideline supporters — no experience needed, just enthusiasm.

What gear does my child need?

Suitable sports shoes with socks, and a drink bottle. Shorts/leggings in black are recommended. Playing uniform will be provided.
